Downtown Mirror [Airplanes]
Downtown Mirror [Airplanes] is a stylized 16mm film of the ubiquitous airplanes that inhabit the downtown San Jose area, which was screened as a 40 foot long by 18 foot high projection onto the side of the building bordering Fountain Alley in San Jose, California. Although the projection is largely silent, JD Beltran and Scott Minneman used innovative audio spotlight technology for sound -- viewers in a special spot in Fountain Alley actually were able to hear the roar of the airplanes flying by. Downtown Mirror [Airplanes] was a special five-day outdoor evening installation as part of the 2008 Zero1 San Jose New Media Festival.
