In 2008, in the months preceding the presidential election, the Walker Art Center and Northern Lights featured the "UnConvention" in St. Paul, Minnesota, the site of the Republican National Convention. JD Beltran was commissioned to create Politics, Mud & Ketchup, a short film about politics which was screened outdoors, right outside the convention center, and at multiple other venues around the city.
